Healing for cancer patients

The Primary role of the healer is to enable the patient to realise and to learn the body's own capacity to repair and build itself.

Healing by a healer as a process is in many ways a mystery. It is described as the focussing of energies through the healer to another person, to activate his or her own self healing. It is gentle, natural and completely safe. It often helps with the speed of recovery from serious illness and major surgery, and the side effects of medical treatments. Frequently people feel more stable and relaxed, experiencing a deep sense of calm, peace and trust in their situation. All that is asked of them is openness to whatever may happen. No faith in a particular religion or creed is required.

People initially wary of healing may be surprised to experience these benefits, and have their scepticism confounded. There may not be physical recovery, but healing may happen on an emotional or spiritual level. Different healers work in different ways, some with hands-on contact, most with hands close but not touching the other person, and some by distant healing.
