Releasing the body's natural painkillers
Releasing the Brain’s Natural Pain Killers
These painkillers are called endorphins and they appear to be released from the brain when we are experiencing intense pleasure.
Norman Cousin’s a journalist and author who suffered a very painful form of arthritis achieved a pain free sleep by first laughing so much while watching clips of the Marks brothers.
Just listening to music raises our pain threshold but if we are really involved in the music by dancing and singing the pain threshold is raised even further.
The reason for this effect is twofold. First the intense pleasure coming from the release of dopamine in the brain then this is combined with the release of endorphins.
Exercise is yet another way of raising our pain threshold with that effect being enhanced even further by carrying out the exercise in time with music. An exercise workout machine is apparently being developed to this effect. OR YOU CAN JUST DANCE TO THE MUSIC.
